Port Boulogne Calais

Port Boulogne Calais is a leading French and European port complex in the fields of fishing & seafood and cross-Channel maritime transport.

Firmly committed to environmental excellence, Port Boulogne Calais is working in partnership with shipping companies towards a “Zero Emissions” goal by 2030, preparing for 100% electric-powered Channel crossings.

The port of Boulogne-sur-Mer is France’s number one fishing port. It brings together all activities of the seafood industry in one location: catch, processing, marketing, distribution… With 320,000 tonnes of seafood products processed each year, unmatched supply and distribution logistics in the sector, and significant cold storage capacity, Boulogne-sur-Mer stands as a leading agrifood logistics hub in Europe.

Calais is the number one French passenger port and the leading Ro-Ro (roll-on/roll-off) port in Europe. It handles one-third of the trade between mainland Europe and the United Kingdom. Each year, approximately 10 million passengers, 45 million tonnes of goods, and 1.8 million trucks pass through its port facilities. Around 45 departures are scheduled every day.

The Port of Calais is also a major intermodal hub tailored to all logistics organizations. Equipped with a rail motorway terminal, nearly 40 trains per week connect southern and northern Europe, supporting modal shift between rail, sea, and road transport.
