Port de Dunkerque
Dunkirk, together with the other ports on the Hauts-de-France maritime coastline, forms the leading French port complex. Equipped with specialized terminals capable of handling and processing all types of goods, it encompasses a diverse ecosystem of numerous maritime, logistics, and industrial activities, with a commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050
More sustainable and resilient, the port is Europe’s leading energy hub.
The development of a benchmark low-carbon industrial zone at the European level is a perfect illustration of this ambition. It is based on the decarbonization of existing industrial processes, the circular economy, and green reindustrialization, in which the Dunkirk region is a pioneer. With its ecosystem focused on electric mobility, the Port of Dunkirk is at the heart of the Hauts-de-France battery valley. Its innovative solutions platform, combined with the expansion of container and logistics activities and the multimodal transport network, creates new opportunities for the region.
The port generates an annual added value of €3.8 billion and a total of 29,000 direct, indirect, and induced jobs. By 2030, ongoing developments in the industrial-port area will have led to the creation of 20,000 additional jobs.
